Cyberspace Administration of China Launches Campaign to Combat False Information Posted by Self-Media, Platforms Required to Optimize AI-Generated Content Labeling
The Cyberspace Administration of China announced that starting from July 24, 2025, a two-month special campaign will be launched to crack down on the dissemination of false information by self-media. The campaign will cover all provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities, and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, aiming to address serious issues such as malicious hype, data fraud, and qualification fraud through dual approaches of technical governance and platform responsibility. The campaign explicitly targets four areas: first, malicious hype behavior, including fabricating false information by impersonating participants or insiders in hot events, as well as forging authoritative data in fields such as finance and military.
